We at CLEVER are celebrating Pride Month this year by honoring and amplifying LGBTQ+ creators in the influencer marketing space. Four CLEVER influencers will be featured throughout the month of June on our blog. These posts are intended to showcase our LGBTQ+ creators and to highlight Give OUT Day, a month-long fundraising campaign culminating on June 30, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community. As we kick off Pride with Give Out Day, we celebrate her and all of the LGBTQ+ influencers who create incredible content during Pride month and throughout the year!

How long have you been a content creator?
Since 2017
How did you get started? Do you remember the first thing you posted?
I got started with my blog in which I documented my experience through graduate school, then I created an Instagram account. My first Instagram post ever was a boomerang of my classmates and I after finishing up a big exam!
What do you create content about? Why? For whom?
My primary focus is on medical education and documenting my career in LGBTQ+ primary care. I also share a lot of queer-health information. I have a love for style and fashion and I post lifestyle content occasionally too. Recently, I got engaged to the love of my life so I've been posting the wedding planning process! I hope that LGBTQ+ folks, medical-field students and other healthcare providers, and anybody else can learn from my accounts. It's a great community!
How has your work been impacted by the pandemic?
Everything about my work in healthcare was changed by the pandemic! My clinic never closed and I continued to see patients in full PPE. I also spent time in a high volume COVID-19 testing site performing tests at the height of the pandemic. It feels almost surreal looking back on it. I had to learn to shift to telemedicine quickly in order to continue caring for my patients.
What is your hope for the future?
My hope for the future is affordable, affirming, and accessible healthcare for all people, especially LGBTQ+ folks who are more likely to face barriers to care than our cisgender, heterosexual counterparts.
Which non-profit organization did you choose to give to for Give OUT Day? Why do you think people should make a donation?
I am choosing to donate to API-Equality-LA. Since the spike in Asian hate crimes over the past year I think that mental health is more important now than ever before in the API community. As a healthcare provider I love that they’re transforming mental healthcare in the API LGBTQ community by increasing access to services, creating safe and affirming spaces, and helping create more equitable policies.
